It is very important to be aware of the content that you are putting into your body. Contrary to unknowing belief, a calorie is not a calorie…and carbs are not your enemy. As with anything, over-consumption of any macro-nutrient (Fat, carbohydrate, protein) will be detrimental to your health & fitness. However there is a purpose for each of them (Fats help to insulate the body and cushion joints, carbohydrates are the body’s preferred source of energy, protein is responsible for muscle regeneration and the ability to use said muscle in daily activities). So learn to be conscious of how much of each macro-nutrient you are taking in, without becoming obsessed with it. You’ll be thankful for the understanding of how it impacts your body.
